Wimberley Montessori School in its entirety is committed to actively working with others in our local and global communities to end systemic racism.
As educators we see the coming together of individuals and groups who hold differing views on what defines racism as an essential part of bringing forth racial equality. The demand for and promotion of racially equal local and global communities must include avenues for compassionate listening and respectful discussion so that our understanding of the problem is thorough. Understanding one another brings awareness that will help stop systemic racism from seeping its way into our lives.
We will not remain silent but will actively seek ways in which we as educators can provide opportunities for deeper understanding, listening and discussing. Our staff will be trained in ABAR, Anti-bias Antiracism and look to Montessori for Social Justice for training and guidance. #BlackLivesMatter
